The UNILAB Tensile Testing Machine for yarns is suitable for determining tensile strength and elongation of yarns, cord, or thread having low breaking strength using the constant rate of traverse principle.  In this equipment, one end of the test specimen is held in a grip attached to a load measuring device and the other end is held in a movable grip which is moved at a fixed speed with the help of a motor, belt pulley, worm reduction gear, and screw arrangement, thus exerting a load on the test specimen.  An arrangement to move the lower grip manually is also provided.
